Come join the salesforce.com team and be a part of this. We are looking for a Force.com Developer Evangelist with a polyglot bent, covering Java, Ruby, HTML5/Javascript, Apex, Visualforce and more. The Developer Evangelist engages with the technical community online and in person, generates content and what’s possible with the Force.com platform.

We are looking for someone that has a love of presenting and participating in technical communities. You should have a strong blogging history and engaged twitter following.

The person for this role will be a key member of our elite developer evangelism team, responsible for activities that inspire developers to engage with our platform technologies, and educate and enable them to innovate and achieve success. This individual will be a compelling presenter and technology guru, and will be able to effectively evangelize our technologies with deep credibility, development expertise and first-hand experience. Members of this team write blog entries / books / articles, speak at conferences and industry events, create demos and code samples, produce and contribute to open-source projects, and serve as key spokespeople with analysts and press in regards to development with our platform technologies.

Responsibilities

Evangelize our developer technologies via interactions with the global developer community including in-person events, blogs, wiki articles, discussion forums, code samples, newsletters and webinars.

Work with other evangelists, product marketing teams, and product managers to provide customer and partner account support to drive adoption of our technologies

Develop prototypes and demos using the latest platform technologies and features

Drive best practices adoption within the internal and external developer communities

Participate in architectual and design discussions with highly strategic customers and partners to speed their adoption and ensure best practices during implementation

Work closely with internal product R&D teams to comprehend and influence upcoming platform technologies, features and tools

Develop and execute on strategy around competitive developer platforms, tools and languages

Provide live support to strategic events and marketing activities in the areas of product demonstrations and speaking engagements

Publish thought-leading commentary and opinion, as well demo assets, video materials and web content

Help establish and nurture key partners in the ecosystem

Publish open-source projects that allow developers, partners and customers to quickly understand and utilize our platform technologies

Assist the sales teams to close large and very large platform deals

Required Skills:

BA/BS in Computer Science or similar technical degree or equivalent experience

3-5+ years work experience as a software developer, architect, technology evangelist, consultant, or product manager for relevant web technologies

Understanding of commercial software development practices, methodologies, and tools

Strong technical background and application development experience, including solid app dev abilities on Force.com and ideally one or more of the following languages: Java, .NET, PHP, Python, Ruby, Node.js, clojure

Passionate and knowledgeable about exploring and experimenting with the latest force.com ISV technologies

Excellent presentation, demonstration, and inter-personal communication skills; experienced speaker at industry-level events

Working knowledge of modern web technologies and cloud computing

Experience architecting enterprise applications, including database, logic, & user interface

Deep analytical skills enabling comprehension and development of complex business and technical issues, topics and plans

Methodical and organized; able to manage multiple opportunities, projects and priorities concurrently

Talented at explaining complex topics clearly and concisely, and effective at providing practical guidance

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Regularly publishing technical content in the form of blogs, articles, slide presentations or video

Working knowledge of modern web technologies including cloud based APIs and protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON)

Desired Skills:

Passionate and knowledgeable about exploring and experimenting with the latest developer technologies and standards, and experience building thriving developer communities

Experience working with technology press, online journalists and bloggers

Deep analytical skills enabling comprehension and development of complex business and technical issues, topics and plans

Methodical and organized; able to manage multiple opportunities, projects and priorities concurrently

Track and contribute to the developer technology blogosphere and other online forums, mailing lists, and newsgroups

Talented at explaining complex topics clearly and concisely, and effective at providing practical guidance

Ability to travel internationally up to 30%
