Product Manager – Socialware – Austin, TX

Socialware is looking for a talented, customer focused Product Manager to join our Product Management and Design team and manage the lifecycle and direction of Socialware technology offerings. As a Product Manager you will be expected to gather feedback and requirements from customers, prospects, analysts, and from sales and customer success teams to understand market problems, the competitive landscape and technology trends. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. This position involves working and effectively communicating both internally with various functional groups (engineering, marketing, sales, business development etc.) as well as externally with customers, prospects, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activitie
  • Specify market requirements and identify market opportunities by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Translate market requirements and product strategy into detailed product requirements in MRDs/PRDs and then work with designers, developers, and quality engineers to implement these features.
  • Bring a detailed eye for user experience and design to ensure features drive high adoption and customer enthusiasm.
  • Develop product demonstrations with pre-release software to educate internal and external audiences on the value of upcoming features/products
  • Develop and communicate a 6-12 month roadmap for Socialware’s product offerings
  • Serve as a product evangelist with Marketing, Sales, and the go-to-market organization to help them understand the vision, roadmap and best practices.
  • Travel 25-35% to customers and prospects

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management or Program Management
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus)
  • Ability to write clear market-driven requirements, prioritize feature requests, and communicate trade-offs
  • Ability to understand and communicate detailed business and technical requirements between external and internal audiences
  • Ability to perform detailed competitive analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Product Management experience with SaaS software and agile development a plus
  • Desire to push one’s self to grow and improve
